Mediator Part-Time (Job Share)

Toledo Municipal Court

The Court is accepting applications for a job-share partner for the position of Mediator.   This position is a part-time, job sharing position (20 hours/week).  Screens and mediates select criminal and civil cases, working with attorneys and pro se parties to reach mutually satisfying case resolution.  Must have the ability to work collaboratively and effectively to obtain resolutions based upon a consensus among parties.  Assists in coordinating volunteer mediators.  Bachelor’s degree required, with a specialization in Counseling, Social Work or Psychology preferred, but not required.  Forty (40) hours mediation training preferred, but not required.  One (1) year experience in direct client contact in a counseling or mediation role, required.  Dispute Resolution or mediation experience preferred, but not required.  Potential candidates must pass a background check.  Must be LEADS certifiable.  Start rate is $25.097 per hour.  Full rate is $27.886 per hour.

The Mental Health & Recovery Services Board of Lucas County (MHRSB) seeks to contract with a Project Director for the ENGAGE 2.0 grant in the northwest region of Ohio. The ENGAGE 2.0 is intended to ‘scale up’ Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS), high-fidelity wraparound, and intensive service coordination for children and youth ages 0 to 21 with behavioral health needs and their families. The Project Director will take responsibility for the implementation and coordination in a way that creates sustainable change in the behavioral health system as well as local partner child-serving organizations. The total amount of funds available is up to $200,000 for a 24-month period (grant end-date: September 30, 2021). Total is inclusive of regional travel and travel to Columbus, OH. The City of Toledo and Toledo Lucas County Port Authority (Port Authority) are conducting a public meeting and accepting public comments on the removal of hazardous materials from 761 Berdan Avenue, Toledo, Ohio.

The Port Authority is announcing plans to remediate asbestos materials within the structure of the former Lucas County Facilities Services building property with support from a U.S. EPA Brownfield Cleanup Revolving Grant from the City of Toledo. The remediation is necessary to allow for building demolition in a manner which protects public health and the environment in compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

The public is invited to attend a Public Meeting to provide information about the remediation action.

The Public Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the West Toledo Branch Library, 1320 W. Sylvania Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43612 from 6:00-6:30 p.m. The Meeting will be a formal open house format allowing the public to stop by anytime between 6:00-6:30 pm. Lucas Metropolitan Housing Authority (LMHA) will be opening their Housing Choice Voucher Program’s (HCVP) waiting list for tenant–based assistance on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 12:01 a.m. All families with a head of household age 18+ may apply. Proposals will be received by Lucas County Department of Job & Family Services (LCDJFS) until 4:00 p.m., September 18, 2019 for the selection of Provider(s) to implement programs serving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) eligible individuals residing in Lucas County.  Submitted proposals must be completed according to the specifications and provisions outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP).  The contract period will be from approximately January 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020.


No proposals will be accepted after 4:00 p.m., September 18, 2019; proposals that are submitted via any method other than that described in the RFP will not be accepted.
